Immanuel Mar Thoma Church of Houston, Texas was formed on September 01, 1994, marking another milestone in the journey of the Mar Thoma Church in North America. The grace of God, the vision and dedication of a few lay leaders of the parish and the timely guidance of our then Diocesan Bishops Rt. Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Suffragan Metropolitan and Rt. Rev. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus Episcopa, and clergies Rev. Eapen Cherian, Rev. T.I. Joseph, and Rev. Raju George paved the way for the formation of a second Mar Thoma Church in Houston. Initially the parish consisted of 140 families, nearly all of whom were members of the Trinity Mar Thoma Church of Houston..

Our Leaders
His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan
Mar Theodosius studied at Baselious College, Kottayam (1966) and Mar Thoma College, Thiruvalla (1969). After taking a degree in Science he joined Leonard Theological College and took BD Degree in 1972. His ordination as ‘Kasseesa‘ was in the year February 24, 1973.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa
Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa ( Rev. Dr. K.U.Abraham) was born on 16th August 1953 as the son of Kanjirathara KC Uthuppu and Sosamma of Kottayam Manganam St. Peters Mar Thoma Parish. He completed school education from Muttampalam Govt. LP School and Kottayam MT Seminary High School. College education was done in CMS college and Baselios College of Kottayam. Theological study was done in Kottayam Mar Thoma Theological Seminary.

Praise the Lord! Greetings to you in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I count it a privilege to serve alongside the faithful members of this wonderful parish, and I look forward to working together in fulfilling our mission of spreading the gospel, nurturing spiritual growth, and advancing the kingdom of God in our community. Rick Warren, in his book The Purpose Driven Church, outlines five key aspects of parish growth: warmer through fellowship, deeper through discipleship, stronger through worship, broader through ministry, and longer through evangelism. A parish must be rooted in these five areas to truly thrive; otherwise, it risks becoming a mere club.
